Who we serve

A church family for those who serve

True North Baptist Church was planted with a deliberate focus on ministry to military and first responder communities. Many of our members serve at Eielson and Fort Wainwright.

Airmen & families

Eielson Air Force Base

We deeply appreciate the Airmen that serve our country. We love Eielson AFB and seek to bring the hope of Jesus Christ and effective discipleship to this installation constantly. Our building in Moose Creek sits just off the Richardson Highway near the base.

Soldiers & families

Fort Wainwright

We enthusiastically minister to the Fort Wainwright community, reaching Soldiers and families for Christ and then equipping each believer for selfless service and strong spiritual growth. Come meet many fellow Soldiers who vibrantly represent our church.

Civilians & families

DoD civilians

Department of Defense civilians and contractors are part of our church family too. Whether you are here for one tour or for good, you will find people who understand the rhythms of military life.

Major Philip McBroom, U.S. Army Chaplain

A pastor who has served

Led by an Army Chaplain

Pastor Phil McBroom served on Active Duty as an Army Chaplain in the United States, Afghanistan, and Korea, where he led discipleship and an outreach to single Soldiers.

Today he continues to serve as an Army Reserve Chaplain on the 11th Airborne Division staff at Fort Wainwright, ministering to Soldiers and Airmen at local installations. He understands deployments, PCS moves, and the pressures military families carry.

Just PCS'd?

Getting connected

When can I visit?

Any Sunday or Wednesday. Sunday Teaching Hour is at 9:30 AM, the Morning Service at 10:30 AM, and we eat together at noon. Wednesday Worship & Prayer is at 7:00 PM. See the full schedule.

I'm single and living in the barracks or dorms.

You are welcome here. Stay for the Sunday hospitality meal and get to know folks, and plug into a small discipleship group on Sunday afternoon. If you need help getting to church, contact us and let us know.

My spouse is deployed or in the field.

You don't have to carry it alone. Our church family prays for one another and aids each other in sickness and distress. Reach out to the pastor anytime.

We're only here for a few years. Is it worth joining?

Yes. Our goal is to help you grow to maturity in Christ while you're here and send you to your next duty station ready to serve in another Baptist church of like faith and practice.

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
