Do you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for your sins?
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;”
I Corinthians 15:3
You need salvation because you have sinned against God and are separated from Him because of your wickedness. Only one sin will keep you out of God’s presence forever.
The Bible says that you need salvation because you are unrighteous, (Romans 3:10-12) have a corrupt nature, (Isaiah 64:6) and are a slave to sin (John 8:34).
Only one sin will keep you out of God’s presence forever. (James 2:10) Since the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) you are even now subject to both physical death and spiritual death.
Without salvation you are headed for the second death, eternal separation from God in the lake of fire.
What does it mean to saved? Believing is not acknowledging that Jesus existed or that He was a good example. Believing is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. You must have faith that He died for you, paid the price for your sin, and is the only way to heaven.
Why do I need to be saved? All men and women sin. Man's sin brought death to the world. We were all born sinners and deserve God's judgment.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 1 Timothy 3:16
The Son of God lived a sinless life and then died on the cross, where His Father
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. II Corinthians 5:21
The Lord Jesus Christ then rose bodily from the grave and ascended into heaven in victory! On the cross God laid all of your sin upon His Son who suffered to pay your debt. You can be saved, not through your own works, but through His work; not by any attempts to obey the law, but by His perfect obedience.
By “one offering he hath perfected for ever” all those that are washed in His blood.
(Hebrews 10:14)
To be saved you must place your faith in Jesus Christ. Saving faith involves two things: Repentance and Faith.
Repentance means to agree with God that you are just as bad as the Bible says, that you are headed for hell and that you deserve it for your sins.
Repentance is turning from your sins and submitting unconditionally to God as your Lord.
Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ alone to save. You cannot believe in Jesus and in your own good works or religious rituals at the same time.
You must come to a specific point in your life where you see yourself as a lost, helpless sinner, you turn from your sins and you trust solely in the Lord Jesus for eternal life!
I John 5:13 says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
If you repent and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation, He will keep you saved. No one who has ever truly believed in Him can perish. (Romans 8:28-39) https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Romans-8-28_8-39/
If you will humble yourself today and believe in Him, he promises you everlasting life in heaven, and a holy life on this earth, freed from the bondage of sin. The matter is urgent. You are not guaranteed tomorrow!
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
