Are you Saved?

Have you acknowledged what God says about your sins? Do you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for your sins? Have you humbled your heart and fully subm

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;”
I Corinthians 15:3

why do i need salvation?

Why do you need to be saved? All men and women sin. Man's sin brought death to the world. Every person is born into this world with a sin nature and an inherent tendency to sin.

  • "Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12)

The Bible says that you desperately need to be saved because you are unrighteous (Romans 3:10-12), have a corrupt nature (Isaiah 64:6), and are a slave to sin (John 8:34).

  • "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one." (Romans 3:10-12)
  • "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." (Isaiah 64:6)
  • "Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin." (John 8:34)

You need to be saved because you are separated from God because of your wickedness.

  • "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

Since the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), you are subject to both physical death and spiritual death.

  • "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." (James 2:10)
  • "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

Without salvation, you are headed for the second death: eternal separation from God in the lake of fire.

  • "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Revelation 20:14-15)

What does it mean to saved? To be saved means to be rescued from God's wrath and from eternity separated from God in the Lake of Fire. God's requirement of man for salvation is that a man put aside his own opinions and ideas and receive His payment for sin, found only in Jesus Christ. You must believe that He died for you, paid the price for your sin, and is your only way to heaven.

  • "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." (Acts 16:31)
  • “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

THERE IS HOPE FOR YOU!

Jesus Christ was God manifested in the flesh.

"And without controversary, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh..." (1 Timothy 3:16)

Jesus lived a sinless life and then died on the cross, where God poured out

all His judgment against sin upon Him.

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Jesus rose bodily from the grave and ascended into heaven in victory in victory over sin and death! On the cross, God laid all of your sin upon His Son. He suffered to pay your debt. You can only be saved through His work, not by any of your own works. By “one offering he hath perfected for ever” all those who are washed in His blood. (Hebrews 10:14)

“WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?”

Jesus Christ

To be saved you must place your faith in Jesus Christ. Saving faith involves two things: Repentance and Faith.

  • "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
  • "Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." (Acts 20:21)

Repentance

Repentance means to agree with God that you are just as bad as the Bible says, that you are headed for hell and that you deserve it for your sins.

  • "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3)
  • "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." (Acts 3:19)

Repentance is turning from your sins and submitting unconditionally to God as your Lord.

  • "And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (Mark 8:34-36)

Faith

Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ alone to save. You cannot believe in Jesus and in your own good works or religious rituals at the same time.

  • For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.  Ephesians 2:8-9

Saving faith is also not merely mental agreement with facts

You must come to a specific point in your life where you see yourself as a lost, helpless sinner, you turn from your sins and you trust solely in the Lord Jesus for eternal life!

THE PROMISE OF GOD

I John 5:13 says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

If you repent and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation, He will keep you saved. No one who has ever truly believed in Him can perish. (Romans 8:28-39) https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Romans-8-28_8-39/

If you will humble yourself today and believe in Him, he promises you everlasting life in heaven, and a holy life on this earth, freed from the bondage of sin. The matter is urgent. You are not guaranteed tomorrow!

"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead." (Acts 17:30-31)
